It’s that time of year again!
As an important part of the Continuing Professional Competencies (CPC) Program, the Professional Development (PD) Model provides a process for monitoring, tracking, and reporting competency and professional development hours (PDHs) and activities for Environmental Public Health Professionals (EPHPs).
What’s new this year?
The Progressive Compliance Cycle is a critical component in upholding our National Professional Designation, and we will review the model and cycle processes.
Members 2019 entries will be audited in spring 2020. Any member found to not be compliance with the requirements of the CPC program for 2019 will be placed into Step 1 of the progressive compliance cycle.
Will my CPHI(C) be suspended if I am not a member of CIPHI?
If you received your Certificate Public Health Inspection (Canada) after January 1st, 2017 and do not maintain regular membership in CIPHI your certificate will be suspended.
If you received your Certificate Public Health Inspection (Canada) before January 1st, 2017 and do not maintain regular membership in CIPHI your certificate will NOT be suspended.
Intimidated? Don’t be.
The vast majority of members are already compliant with CPC program.
The enforcement of membership requirements is an important piece in strengthening the integrity of Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors.
The NEC, CoPE, BOC and CIPHI Office are available to support members through this new process. Please contact a Branch Exec member or your CoPE rep for questions or concerns!
Members must enter details of their professional development hours in the online member service centre (MSC) at www.ciphimember.ca
